Sweet Girl 2021 Netflix Movie Review

Movie Review

Netflix is rapidly becoming or perhaps has become the new Asylum/Anchor bay, releasing half baked movie after half baked movie and this one is no different, the actors were great, the actors were the only thing keeping this thing together but by god, the script was terrible, the camera work was terrinble, i mean dear god did they find the only camera person with parkinson's or what.. its becoming very sad, maybe 1 in 30 netflix movies is good the rest are just garbage, i realise this review has spent more time focusing on netflix than the movie itself and thats partly because theyre to blame, put up any netflix movie poster and youll see, theyre all pretty much the same. Kinda like the hallmark christmas movie, youve seen one hallmark christmas movie, you've seen em all, just different actors.

Sweet Girl is an action-packed revenge thriller that explores the numerous nuances, struggles and challenges of this father-daughter duo. While the premise revolves around exposing a huge pharma scam that’s killing many innocent lives, the film still fails at many levels to tug at your heartstrings. albeit the movie has all the right elements to strike the right chord with the audience, it fails on many counts. While it's established later within the film that Jason could also be a sparring professional and his wife a dancer, it'd are nice to urge that sense of helplessness, struggles and thus the challenges he had to face when undergoing a fantastic emotionally difficult phase soon after his wife’s untimely death, which he believes is because of the unavailability of the medicines at the last minute .

Over a span of 24 months, the daddy not just trains his daughter in sparring but has charted out an elaborate plan on the thanks to avenge Amanda’s death. Enter the hypothetical reputed pharma company BioPrime and its infamous CEO Simon Keeley (Justin Bartha), and their first target whom they successfully bring down. Things begin to spiral out of control the moment they begin this mission and are now pronounced wanted fugitives. And while they're still able to somehow manage to eliminate the targets on their list, which also includes a hitman who had earlier attacked them, the film seems to look and feel dull. the only grace was the twist at the highest that helps you stay awake for a few of minutes. With the father-daughter bond being at the centre of it all, somehow that chemistry was missing between Jason and Isabela. For a movie that’s imagined to rely heavily thereon , it misses the mark as there are just a few of action sequences that look incredibly dull. the manufacturers could have explored the connection that forms between Rachel and thus the FBI detective Sarah Meeker (Lex Scott Davis) slightly more.

Sweet Girl, directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza and written by Philip Eisner and Gregg Hurwitz, is unfortunately a dull decide to blend action and emotions, especially once you've got such good actors on board.

I was excited to watch this movie- Jason Mamoa takes on Big Pharma. I have to say that I was really let down. The plot of the movie was terrible, the plot twist was predictable, and the movie in general was not believable. With all of that said, I could watch Jason Mamoa fill out his taxes and I would be perfectly happy. Therefore, the movie earned some points for casting him.
